Stamping with my oldest granddaughter this weekend was just what I needed to get my rear in gear! Stamping with others is therapeutic and energizing, but stamping with my grands is the BEST! It’s an opportunity to remember the fun crafting times I shared with my Mom and to hopefully leave lasting memories with my grands that they can then pass on to their future generations.
A Special Sleep-over
My oldest granddaughter (12) spent the night with us on Friday. Usually we have all three grands or some combination of two, so to have her by herself was a special treat! Saturday morning we were in my newly-reorganized craft room checking out all the changes. She loves the organizational side of crafting, but she shared with me that stamping and card making just wasn’t her interest. Of course I told her that was fine; we all have different interests. The next thing I know she’s asking if she could make a card for her friend who just got a new puppy. You can imagine how quickly I said SURE!
A New Stamper is Born!
We used the Pampered Pets bundle, the Playful Pets Designer Series Paper and the Playful Pets trinkets. It was so much fun as she chose papers, colors, and layout for her card. I offered guidance on what was available for her to use, and she was amazed at all the different choices. I think there’s a new stamper in the family.
Are you a Stamper waiting to be Born?
It was good for me to see stamping and card making through new eyes. I’ll make a video this week and recreate the process she went through in making her decisions. If you’re a new stamper, I hope it will take away any concerns you might have about not being creative. Be sure you have notifications on if you subscribe to my Facebook page so you’ll be sure to know when the video is uploaded.
There’s also a fun “this or that” happening on my Instagram home! Let me know if you prefer florals or geometric shapes for some coloring fun this week!
See you soon!
