Do you remember the last time you opened your mailbox and found something that wasn’t a bill, political flyer or ad? Something personal, thoughtful and possibly handmade? I do. And maybe that’s why I love checking the mail so much. It takes me back to the days of Weekly Readers (Google it if you don’t have memories of it) and handwritten letters from pen pals. Even now, there’s just something about happy mail that never gets old.
That’s why I’m starting a new campaign I’m calling Revive the Mailbox – and I’d love for you to join me. We live in a digital world, and, while convenience is great, it often lacks connection. But a handmade card in the mailbox?
- That’s personal.
- That’s intentional.
- That’s joy, delivered.
Why This Matters
Most people are carrying a quiet weight – stress, loneliness, uncertainty. What if your small gesture could lift that weight, even just for a moment? One card, one envelope, one trip to the mailbox. It might be exactly what someone needs. And yes, this absolutely includes you too. I believe sending cards creates just as much joy as receiving them.
How You Can Join the #ReviveTheMailbox Movement
- Start with one card a week. Think of someone who needs a smile.
- Keep a stash ready. I use a small, colorful mailbox on my desk to hold cards before they head out the door. It keeps sending happy mail top-of-mind.
- Use the hashtag #ReviveTheMailbox when you share your cards online to inspire others.
- Track your happy mail. I’m creating a simple printable tracker to help you stay inspired and intentional (and to see the ripple effect you’re creating). (Coming Soon!)
Let’s make checking the mail something to look forward to again. One card at a time. Are you in? Share your thoughts in the comments or tag me on social media @MyMothersChild. I can’t wait to see how you’re reviving the mailbox in your own creative way.
Sharing Life and Creativity –

Let’s bring back the joy of meaningful mail—together. Feel free to pass this along to a friend who’d love to join the #ReviveTheMailbox movement.
